Metahumans are a stunning and included free with Unreal Engine.

However despite the power of the these characters understanding the tools for customisation, and how to actually add them to a cinematic scecen and then successfully capture an actors performance and apply that performance to the digital character is still not very straightforward.

This course will take you step by step through the process to create, customize, animate and render a stunning cinematic sequence with your metahumans.

It will be delivered as live lessons on a weekly basis over zoom and a full self paced video course with all the assets and project files you need.

This course is designed for anyone who wants to use metahumans in virtual production, ICVFX, Virtual Art Department or Art department work in Film and TV production.  It will take you from never having used Meta Humans or Unreal to being able to create unique Metahumans and animate them with an actors performance in a cinematic scene. The topics covered include: How to create a custom meta human from images or scans.

Pose and animate your metahuman in Unreal 5.3

Learn how to import a metahuman into unreal and how to set up and light a cinematic scene.

Incorporate motion capture data from actors' performances


Learn how to import data from suits, gloves, and setup a live link to capture facial animation with just an iPhone.


Add custom clothing

Although it's possible to create a range of looks from the Metahuman creator if you want to make your character really shine you will need to either import pre-created clothing or use Marvelous Designer or Substance painter to achieve a strong look.
